Overall was a good experience. The only inconvenience was it took a while to initially be served and had to go to the bar to request for the table to be cleaned and to get a menu.
Starters:
We had the calamari and the buttermilk chicken to start which were nice however the calamari was a tad over fried.
Mains:
We both had the beef Sunday roast which was lovely. One of the best Sunday roasts I have had in a while. The beef was a bit fatty but some people prefer that.
Desert:
We were recommended the molten chocolate which we shared and it was amazing!
Would definitely recommend if you are local and looking for a Sunday roast to enjoy. We will be coming back again for the roast.
The service is good.The roast beef was delicious (Sunday lunch). I really enjoyed the vegetables. My colleague has a burger that was OK, but not overly exciting. The lemon posset was really good.
We came here for a midweek family lunch, 11 of us, having just been to a service at the Honor Oak Crematorium. We were all feeling a little fragile, the staff and kitchen couldn't have been nicer. Our youngest member, 3, was served almost instantly - a great help. All the food was so delicious and they have a good beer selection too - I had the Battersea IPA.
We settled in for a roast, with our dog, hugely friendly and welcoming staff, great vibe and options of seating. Food was great. We'll be back
Visited Crofton Park Tavern on a bit of a whim with some visitors from out-of-town, and my girlfriend and I both agreed that it was the best Sunday roast we've had so far in London. We went for the chicken and the pork, both of which were amazing - there was actually a lot more chicken than you would get at many other spots which was great. I would also thoroughly recommend leaving enough space for the cookie dough desert, this was incredible.
Great selection of drinks with some local beers on tap - I'm really excited to come back and try the regular menu soon!
3 of us went for a Sunday Roast.
The food was delicious, we all had the roast pork and it was lovely. Crispy crackling, nicely done roast potatoes and yorkshires and a very tasty gravy. A good healthy portion with some added cauliflower cheese made for a nice lunch.
However the service from our specific waitress was dreadful, and left a significantly sour note on our afternoon.
She was dismissive, abrupt and rude with a distinct lack of care for our experience at the restaurant. There was a whole host of communication blunders (eg. She said they didn’t have anything at all on draught?!)
Most importantly - she completely forgot to register our starters. We each ordered starters that simply never arrived. We weren’t offered any kind of remuneration for this, only a cold apology and a response of “well at least you’ll have room for pudding.”
She also left us with the card machine when we were paying (I could’ve easily refunded the price to only card or simply not paid and they wouldn’t have had a clue).
There was no care for us as customers. She didn’t ever ask how anything was, or whether we needed anything. Incredibly poor basic mistakes from someone in the hospitality industry.
It was also expensive! We paid £84 for 3 roast dinners, a cider and 2 coca-cola’s.
If we’d of had a nicer experience that may be justified but due to the appalling customer experience we were in and out writhing 45 minutes.
I’m sure the pub would be a lovely dining experience with a different waiter/waitress. But sadly the one we had definitely should not be working in hospitality.
I’m sure we’ll return to the Croydon park Tavern soon, hoping someone else looks after us!
